The Greyhounds we rescue and adopt out are, generally, from 2 to 6 years old.

We make every effort to match a Greyhound to your particular family and lifestyle and choices as they pertain to age, gender, and weight.

Our adoption fee is $285. Of that amount, $50 goes directly into an emergency medical fund to help Greyhounds with special veterinary needs or with surgery. The adoption fee additionally includes spay or neuter, rabies and DHLPP immunizations, dental cleaning, heartworm test and one month of heartworm preventative, fecal exam and de-worming, transportation, and collar/leash set.

Required reading for first-time adopters is Lee Livingood's "Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies," which is available from First State Greyhound Rescue or your local bookstore.

Note: There is a $50.00 discount for adopting two greyhounds at the same time.
